Open Practice
Who Can Participate in Open Practice?
ONLY Currently Enrolled students ages 10+ who are approved by faculty can participate in Open Practice.
If you are not currently enrolled, please complete this form for studio or point rental.
How can I be approved for Open Practice?

Students must demonstrate the following in front of a faculty or staff member:

Aerial: Know how to safely rig and inspect their apparatus and know how to use the trick lines and pulley points. Must know which mat to use for what they are about to train.

German Wheel: Know how to fasten the straps onto a wheel and move their wheel to and from storage. Must have a partner with them to spot.

Acrobatics and Partner Acrobatics: Cannot practice skills that require a spot if you do not have an approved spotter.

Must be able to put their equipment back as they found it.

Students need to ask their teacher to test them for approval during class before signing up for Open Practice.
Students can have their Open Practice Approval Revoked after a faculty or staff member witnesses any of the following in 3 instances:

Bullying

No mat or not the correct mat.

Equipment or studio not returned to storage or general use.
-
Teaching skills to other students.
-
Teaching choreography for a non-CC&Co. / CC&DC show. Creating choreography for the fun of it and teaching it is allowed and encouraged.

German Wheels: working without a partner
-
Teaching yourself skills from Instagram or YouTube.
-
Not in correct dress code for the discipline that you are practicing.

Not practicing correct technique in skills, which could cause the practitioner or others harm.

Instructors and staff have the right to ask a student to sit out from Open Practice. This happens if the student demonstrates dangerous behavior or if the student repeatedly ignores the rules of Open Practice.

Included in your monthly tuition! We encourage you to practice what you have learned in class to help you advance.

How do I sign up for Open Practice?
Please sign up 48 hours in advance
Current Student (Active Jackrabbit Account)
Login to the Parent Portal, choose Classes & Events - Find Events, and choose Open Practice - Active Students Only at your desired time (you may also view in calendar mode) and follow the registration prompts.
When arriving in the studio for Open Practice, please sign in at the front desk.
